Level 4 – CTS (Certificate to Supervise) ensures that upon successful completion of this course, the student is capable of not only firing the E*STAR blasts but also performing all the troubleshooting. It is also the first level, after which it is possible to coach other students.
CTS includes theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the classroom and the field. CTS authorises the holder to work with the E*STAR system, carry out E*STAR blasting operations, and perform troubleshooting. Additionally, the holder is entitled to coach other students at levels 1, 2, and 3. To successfully complete CTS, one must pass a knowledge test and practical skills examinations. Furthermore, the student must fire 20 E*STAR blasts within 2 months (especially for tunnels and underground mines) or 10 E*STAR blasts within 6 months (especially for surface blasting works).
Upon successful completion of the course, the student receives a CTS certificate, which remains valid for 24 months from the date of issuance.
In addition to the competencies acquired in previous levels, the student will gain knowledge and skills in areas such as:
- E*STAR components
- Equipment firmware and compatibility
- Quality and Control (Q&C)
- Investigation procedures
- All possible in-field scenarios
- Understanding error messages and behaviours
- Etc.
